The fourth day of the trip started out as a rainy one...We drove from Tverya to Tzfat, where we quickly headed to a the synagogue of the Holy Ari a master of Kabbalah to escape the rain and learn what it was really about. While there Adam gave us a story of the history of Kabbalah. We left the Synagogue and went to a rooftop room with a gorgeous view of the city. We then continued our adventure by listening to unique instruments. It was interesting to hear the music and the way the different sounds that came out each instrument.
After the instruments the boys and girls split up and went to learn about the meaning behind a Mikva. We met up after each group was done. We left and went to lunch....which only took about 100 stairs to climb.. where everyone noshed on falafel or shawarma. We also had time to look around the shops where people bought jewelry and clothing and other knick knacks.
After lunch we went to one of Adam's friend's places. We listened to him talk about Kabbalah and the spiritual meanings behind Judaism. He made art that was all around the room for us to look at and buy. After that we left and drove three hours to Jerusalem. We stopped on the way at a mall and got snacks and had bathroom breaks and then we continued on. We got to Jerusalem at 7:30 and dropped off our stuff and went to dinner.
After dinner we listened to a speaker from Stand by Us. She told us about how Israel became Israel and she told us about the various different wars that have happened over the years.
Today was really fun and interesting and I can't wait to experience what else Israel has to offer.
